Samantha Weeks Design Group is a Victoria-based interior design studio specializing in residential and commercial interiors. Founded by Samantha Weeks, the studio brings over two decades of experience to every project, with a focused practice built around thoughtful interior planning, refined material selection, and precise technical documentation.
The studio’s work spans custom homes, renovations, and commercial interiors across Vancouver Island and beyond. Each project is developed through a structured design process that moves from early concept and spatial planning through material specification, custom millwork design, and construction coordination.

THE APPROACH
Every project at Samantha Weeks Design Group begins with listening. To the client, to the site, and to the architecture of the space itself. From there, the studio develops a clear design direction that balances functional requirements with the quieter, more human qualities that make a space feel considered and complete.
The studio works collaboratively with clients, architects, and contractors throughout the design and construction process. Clear communication, detailed documentation, and close coordination are central to how the studio works and how projects are successfully delivered.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Founder & Principal Designer
With over two decades of experience shaping residential and commercial spaces, Samantha Weeks leads SWDG with a quiet rigor and an editorial eye. A graduate of Pacific Design Academy’s Interior Design & Building Technology program, she founded the studio in 2004 and has since guided every project — from intimate Victoria renovations to expansive Vancouver Island new builds — from first concept to final reveal.
Her approach is grounded in considered design: layouts that breathe, materials chosen with intention, and a commitment to sustainability, craft, and technical precision. Samantha works closely with each client to translate the way they want to live into spaces that feel both elevated and entirely their own.
She mentors the studio’s design team and remains hands-on across every phase of every project.
SR. DESIGNER
Cara Zeznik brings nearly two decades of design experience to SWDG, where she has been a steady creative force since 2006. A graduate of BCIT’s Interior Design program in Vancouver, Cara leads projects from first concept through final install — translating client vision into detailed plans, considered material palettes, and spaces that feel both refined and lived-in.
Her work is shaped by a precise technical fluency and a sharp instinct for proportion, light, and the quiet details that elevate a room. Cara collaborates closely with clients, trades, and the wider studio team, and mentors emerging designers as part of SWDG’s next generation.
She balances creative intuition with the rigor that long-term, layered projects demand.
Project Operations Coordinator
Tamara Barker brings a maker’s sensibility to interior design — a designer whose work moves fluidly between space planning, material sourcing, and hands-on furniture craft. Trained through the Interior Design Institute with interdisciplinary studies at Thompson Rivers University, she has built her practice across residential and small commercial projects, custom furniture collections, and collaborative design work.
Tamara leads with curiosity and care, translating brand, function, and aesthetic into environments that feel cohesive and considered. She is equally at home developing a layered material palette, refining a layout, or producing a custom piece from concept through fabrication.
Her approach is grounded, resourceful, and collaborative — shaped by years of working closely with clients to bring intentional spaces to life.
